What is Hairy Galinsoga?

Hairy galinsoga is an abundant weed in North America and produces quite a few seeds during its lifespan. It has distinctive hairs on its triangular leaves and yellow inner flowers with white to pink outer flowers growing from terminal stems. The stems of this weed can reach as tall as 2 feet and appear green to maroon in color and are also covered in tiny hairs.

Getting Rid of Hairy Galinsoga Weeds

This annual is hard to control and can easily root even if the shoots are cut. It always produces seeds and spreads throughout the landscape during its season. Pre-emergent herbicides with isoxaben are ideal at controlling this plant, as are herbicides with trifluralin and isoxaben combined.
